Twenty-six years ago, Grace and her late husband enrolled in a City of Calgary ballroom class, and that turned into a twenty year endeavour with DanceSport. After hanging up the ballroom shoes, Grace was intrigued by the interesting music from across the hall while she was in a jazz class, and that is how she began her journey with Bollywood.
A third year member of Sparq’s Performance Team, Grace says you could not ask for a more fun loving group and yet serious when they have to be. This very much reflects the attitude of coaches Vish and Tania. They make even the simplest move into something fun or attach a joke to it and yet are most serious and precise about technical aspects. She says it is a joy to learn from them. By day Grace works in accounting for a law firm, so finds herself in front of a computer for eight hours a day. Dancing has been a passion of hers most of her life. It gives her the outlet to get some much needed exercise while doing her favourite activity.
Grace mentions her most memorable performance was the Shreya Ghoshal show at the Stampede Corral, Fall of 2014. The feeling of being on such a grand stage as the opening act for such a talented singer in front of 7000 people was truly amazing. The most fun performance experience she has shared with her Bollywood family was the road trip to Edmonton, also in the Fall of 2014.
Watch for Grace at the seventh annual performance of ONE - Power of World Dance, and other events throughout the city.
